Cognition, Action, and sensorimotor plasticity

Movement representation, plannification and modeling

It has been showed that observation (mirror neurons theory), mental stimulation (motor imagery theory) and movement execution all share to some extent similar neural bases. Investigation focusing on motor cognition and movement control must take into account underlying neural mechanisms. This project explores these processes both at the behavioural and neuronal levels:

  • Mental simulation and movement observation
  • Movement planification in the gravitoinertial environment
  • Impovement of motor function by observation in elderly and patients
  • Assessment of lower limb arthrosis
