Curriculum Vitae

Après un DEA à Marseille en 1985, j’ai préparé un doctorat sous la direction de A. Berthoz. Après une thèse de neurophysiologie (Paris VI) en 1990 et plusieurs séjours à l’étranger je suis devenu en 1992 MCU STAPS à Dijon. PU en 1998, j’ai pris en 2000 la direction d’une EA et je dirige cette unité INSERM depuis 2002. En délégation INSERM de 2003-2005, j’ai été professeur invité à la Faculté de Médecine de Pavie. Depuis 2007 je participe à l’implantation d’une plateforme européenne de robotique humanoïde à l’Institut Italien de Technologie de Gènes.

Thèmes de recherche

Mon projet de recherche consiste à étudier les principes d’organisation de la motricité humaine et à identifier les mécanismes physiologiques sous-jacents. Les 3 axes de recherche que je propose de développer tiennent compte de récentes avancées en neurosciences qui suggèrent un étroit couplage entre Action et Perception. Perception et planification des actions seront étudiés (psychophysiques, TMS, IRMf) afin de mieux comprendre les mécanismes responsables de la production des actions. Le projet prévoit de valoriser médicalement nos résultats et de développer des outils thérapeutiques innovants pour rééduquer les âgés hypo actifs ou les patients souffrant de lésions centrales. La recherche est conduite au sein de l’U887 et en collaboration avec plusieurs équipes internationales dont C Vargas à Rio, L Fadiga à Genova, N Stucchi à Milano.
